Slate colored juncos

This is the design that we used for our Christmas Card this year.
These little birds are often called snow birds. In many parts of the country, such as here in the mid-Atlantic, they are winter visitors.
the birds breed in the forests of Canada, New England and the Appalachians. This was also used to illustrate my monthly column in
Bay Weekly, you can read it at www.bayweekly.com.

North Beach Marsh

This is another pallette knife study done en plein air. The view is from my friend's Chris and Lisa's house. It is one that I wasn't particularly happy with when I first painted it but, over time has grown on me.

Winter Wren and Christmas Fern

I did this illustration for my Christmas card in 2005. It is probably my favorite scratchboard illustration. It was also used as the illustration for my monthly column in Bay Weekly. You can read what I said about the wren at http://www.bayweekly.com/, click on archives and do a search.
